Construction Manager

Scope: The Construction Manager is responsible for all tasks relating to construction projects and the supervision of general contractors in the safe and timely day-to-day execution of projects tasks to meet client timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This includes, but is not limited to vendor selection, on-site management/field coordination, sub-contractor management, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), installers and integrators, and logistical material management.
Reports To: Director of Construction Services and Safety
Classification: Exempt
Hours: M-F (Hours may vary based on project needs)
Supervisory Responsibility: Assigned Construction Project Coordinator
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, coordinate, organize, oversee, and direct activities regarding the design, construction and/or maintenance of assigned projects (ex: supervising the General Contractor, scheduling, quality checks, process, and safety)
- Enter and track all project-related data in a cloud-based platform according to company standards (to include office laptop use and on-site tablet data entry)
- Utilize reporting tools to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Prepare project-scoping documents to include cost estimates and communicate regularly with client on progress and costs
- Ensure contractor adherence to budget and change orders, and when unexpected complications or issues arise, make quick and necessary adjustments
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction
- Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.
- Manage and lead actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespeople, and craft workers
Other Duties:
- Attend client and team meetings as required
- Complete site visits to ensure project milestones and schedules are being met
- Maintain accurate and complete files for projects in accordance with company and customer standards
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of how cell sites are built; civil, steel, electrical, backhaul, RF, OEM equipment
- Experience building various carrier site types, to include material nomenclatures/purposes
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Knowledge of RF theory
- Knowledge of test equipment and standards
- Experience with various tools and techniques associated with cell-site construction
- Knowledge of safety requirements and standards for cell towers and rooftops (OSHA-10 or 30)
- Knowledge of industry standard budget and cost for cell sites
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate customer relationships
- Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
- Ability to thrive in and independent atmosphere as well as a team environment
Education and Experience:
- Technical coursework or equivalent experience in telecom site construction
- OSHA-10 or 30
- Valid driver’s license required with clean driving record (travel between NJ and NY may be required)
Physical Demands:
- Able to climb several flights of stairs at a time
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Ability to regularly work outside in occasional inclement weather conditions
