Position Overview:

inRange Solutions HQ- Fairfield, NJ

The Field Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely execution of tasks. This includes supervising general contractors to meet client timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Field Manager collaborates closely with Public Safety customers, Project Managers, and Service Vendors to successfully complete assigned work. Responsibilities may also include on-site management and field coordination, subcontractor oversight, coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), installers, and integrators, as well as logistical and material management.Scope: The Project Manager is responsible for managing cross-functional teams to deliver multi-scope projects that meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This includes, but is not limited to, driving the activities of the project by; resourcing the project (with internal or external resources), ensuring milestones are met, overcoming obstacles, and overall financial accountability of the profit and loss of their projects.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Monitor vendor and subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with client expectations and contract terms

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of assigned projects, including audits, design, construction, and maintenance. Supervise contractors, manage schedules, enforce safety compliance, and conduct quality checks.
  • Maintain, optimize, test, and document communications systems to ensure consistent reliability and performance.
  • Proactively monitor system performance, addressing alarms and malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance routines, analyzing results to drive continuous optimization.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, antenna networks, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Leverage expertise in telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet-switching technologies to support operations.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports summarizing activities, performance, and accomplishments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with vendors, project managers, and clients to maintain and improve advanced communication systems that exceed expectations.
  • Enter and track project-related data in cloud-based platforms using office and field devices.
  • Utilize Sitetracker and other reporting tools (as required) to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure contractor adherence to budgets and change orders, making adjustments as necessary to address unforeseen issues.
  • Enforce safety codes and standards on job sites, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Partner with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve issues related to procedures, complaints, construction, and design.
  • Lead corrective actions to mitigate delays, weather events, or emergencies affecting project schedules.
  • Accountable for ensuring all project details are accurately and promptly communicated to the Senior Technical Project Manager, fostering alignment, clarity, and seamless execution across all phases of the project.

Travel and/or Site Visit Requirements:

  • Regional travel is required approximately 5075% of the time for audits, site inspections, meetings, and client/project site visits.
  • Travel may also extend to broader geographic areas, including locations outside the continental United States.

Other Duties and Skills:

  • Attend internal and external status meetings, with flexibility in work environments, as needed
  • Conduct site visits to gather existing conditions and train team to efficiently complete site visits and audits, as required
  • Provide guidance and direction to project team members and managers

Technical Skills and Software:

  • Strong knowledge of the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques for modern digital and analog communications systems and architectures.
  • Example: diagnosing signal degradation in a trunked radio system by isolating faulty repeaters and reconfiguring RF paths.
  • Skilled in configuring and testing base stations, repeaters, routers, switches, and MPLS networks.
  • Proficient in configuring and maintaining computer networks, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
  • Experienced in configuring and testing two-way radio and subscriber products.
  • Hands-on experience with logging and recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, 911 applications, and networking equipment.
  • Proven ability to utilize specialized tools for optimizing and testing communications systems, including Communications Systems Analyzers, Power Sensors and Watt Meters, TIMS sets, CPS, CSS, and Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs).
  • Capable of developing and delivering technical training to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong overall computer literacy.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.

Education and Qualifications:

  • OSHA-10/30 certified, with strong knowledge of safety requirements for wireless towers and rooftops.
  • Familiar with configuring and testing base stations, repeaters, routers, switches, and MPLS networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of wired and wireless communications systems, including Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Completed technical coursework or gained equivalent experience in telecom site construction.
  • Hands-on experience constructing a variety of carrier site types, with detailed understanding of material nomenclature and purposes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting audit forms, test results, construction drawings, and scopes of work.
  • Solid understanding of RF theory, testing standards, and industry-standard equipment.
  • Experienced in applying tools and techniques specific to wireless site construction.
  • Knowledgeable in industry-standard budgeting and cost structures for wireless sites.
